Exclusive teachers in each version of the game

In each Pokémon game you always have to have a professor who is an expert in the new region where we will be, his objective is to give us the mission of completing the Pokédex. This time we see something totally new in the series, and that is that for the first time each version of the game will have its own teacher. We will have Albora and Turo, 2 professors who have the same ambition, to investigate the phenomenon known as "Teracrystallization"

Professor Turo is the professor that we will see in the version of Pokémon Purple, his name and his clothes refer to the "Future" that would be the insignia of this version. For her part in the scarlet version we meet Albora, a teacher whose clothes and her name both refer to the "past" the insignia of this version of the game.

Exclusive Pokemon in each version

Scarlet and purple pokemon differences

As we already know, each of the versions has not only 2 exclusive legendary pokemons, these are usually the ones we see on the cover of each version, but also each version of the game has other exclusive pokemons, with 24 exclusive pokemons that we will achieve in each delivery.

For the Purple version of pokemon we get several different types of pokemon being Bagon, Salamence and Shelgon new favourites, all 3 of the dragon type. For its part in the Scarlet version we also have 24 exclusive pokémon and our personal favorites are Oranguru, a normal and psychic pokémon and hyfreigon, a dragon and sinister type pokémon.

In addition to this we obviously have the 2 legendary pokémon of these versions. In the scarlet version we find Koraidon, a pokémon about which not much is known and is revealed only when playing the game, a curiosity about this pokémon is that its name in Japanese comes from the combination of the word "Old" Koraí, and “montar” ride in English, and with the typical “gift” ending that refers to dinosaurs.

For its part, in the purple version we get Miraidon, a legendary pokémon about which there is also little information, what we know as a curiosity is that its name is a combination of the word "Future", mirai in Japanese, and "mount" ride in English, and with the typical "don" ending that refers to dinosaurs.

different academies

The region that we will explore in this new installment of Pokémon will be the Plateau city, a gigantic urbanization that houses the Paldea Academy, a highly prestigious school that has a great history and that will help us complete our goal of becoming one of the Best pokemon trainers ever.

The curious thing that we see on this occasion is that in each version we will have a school with a different name and shield. In the version of Pokémon Scarlet we find the Orange Academy, where we will also see that its shield is orange. On the other hand, in the version of Pokémon Purple we will see the Uva academy, a school that will have a purple shield and a bunch of grapes on it.

In the same way, the differences between both academies will only be the colors since the rest will be the same in both versions.

Books

In this new installment we will have the "Legendary Path" available, an investigation proposed by Damián, our friend in the game who will give us a copy of a book that will help us complete this assignment, but the special thing about this book is that in each version is different.

This is a book that collects several diaries written in the past that tell the story of each expedition that has followed the trail of the legendary pokémon of each version. The difference is that in the Scarlet book we see Koraidon and it is scarlet, and in the Purple version we see Miraidon and the book is purple.

Uniform available for the protagonist

An extra that we will see is that in each version we will have 2 different base outfits for our protagonist, it matches the academy we will attend. In the version of pokemon purple we will see that the protagonist will have shorts of this color, while in pokemon scarlet the protagonist will have scarlet shorts available.

In the same way, this will not be the only clothes that we can use, but it is a differentiating detail between each game since these clothes are exclusive to each version.

Which version to choose?

Both versions are essentially the same, but each has these additional details that we discussed earlier. In terms of exclusives, both versions are very close and have the same number of exclusives, so in this sense they are equal, for their part, the general changes are not that big and each game is basically the same.

As for which version to choose, this will always depend on your personal tastes, but a decisive actor is always the legendary pokémon, so if this is the section that most attracts your attention, we recommend that you investigate each legendary pokémon in more depth and see which one you like best.

But if we have to recommend a version, we would tell you to go for either of the 2, both will give you the same experience that is expected from a pokemon game, and by having one version you don't lose much compared to the other, so that we recommend prioritizing the experience to those exclusive to each version, so the final decision will always be yours.
