And if one thing is certain, it is that in almost 99,99% of the cases we do not carry a flashlight with us, but surely we have the mobile phone close by or in our possession, and that is why we can use the flashlight of our terminal. As simple as making a few gestures, asking the Google assistant, or even using third-party applications from the Play Store.
How to turn on your mobile flashlight
In the Android system appeared back in version 5.0 the option to turn the flashlight on and off more or less easily, so before we had the obligation to download third-party applications. Now we are going to focus on the native system of our smartphones, since if we only want to turn on the flashlight, the process is simple.
The quickest and easiest option to access the flashlight is to slide down the quick menu. From the top of the screen with our fingers we slide and we find the quick access menu to different options, among them we find the Flashlight, and to turn it on (or turn it off) we just have to click on the icon and the light will come on.
Normally the intensity of the light seems insufficient to us, but it is determined by the system, but depending on your mobile, Android version or manufacturer brand, you can regulate the light power. And that can be done by simply clicking on the word «Flashlight» from that quick menu, remember that we refer to the word, not the icon. In this way, in some cases, a hidden menu opens in which we can regulate the intensity, normally we can vary it in values from 1 to 5, with 1 being the lowest intensity and 5 the most powerful.
If you have a mobile with a custom Android layer, look for that option or maybe you can find it in the system settings. Perhaps the brand has included an option that allows you to regulate the power of the flashlight light. It's not normal, but you know, hope is the last thing to lose.
An alternative to this access system, and if we often use the flashlight option, it is convenient that we locate on the main screen a shortcut or a widget that allows us to operate with the flashlight much faster and in a simple way. In order to do this, we just have to press and hold on the flashlight option and drag it to the main screen of the phone. Place it wherever you want and enjoy the light. With this way, every time we want to use it, we just have to click on the icon that we have created so that it turns on or off at our convenience.
Use the Google Assistant
“OK Google (or Hey Google) turn on the flashlight”
With this phrase we don't need to touch a button, or worry about looking for where on the screen we can find it. Even if our hands are full, dirty or without close access to the mobile what better than using the Google assistant. As you know, it is easily activated with the famous phrase of OK Google, and we only have to give it the order that we consider appropriate. In this case it will be «Turn on the flashlight» or «Turn off the flashlight», what we need.
This is a very useful form, especially in situations in which our hands are busy with other tasks or simply because we don't want to waste time looking for the flashlight in the different phone menus. And as we always say, technology has come to make life easier for us, not to complicate it.
